Hope into Action tenants share their stories at the Prison Ministry Conference

prisonminlogoOn Friday four of our tenants attended the Annual Prison Ministry Conference in London. The focus of the day was Rescue – Restore – Reintegrate, looking at how we journey with people from moment of crisis, through getting back on their feet, to successfully reintegrating into the local community. There were many inspiring and emotional testimonies throughout the day including ones from three of our current tenants; Rob, Blair, Carl and Allyson.

One of our tenants Carl spoke about how he has managed to turn his life around in the 13 months since being released from prison. He was met at the prison gates by Hope into Action and mentors from his partner church. Since then, he has moved into a house, qualified as a fork lift truck driver and now pays his own rent. He has re-established relationships with his family and is conquering his addictions.

Another tenant Allyson explained that she would not have reached forty birthday due to her addiction. But through Hope into Action Allyson found the support and confidence that she needed to make positive changes in her life.”

“We are so proud that Carl, Rob, Blair and Allison had the confidence to stand up on stage and tell their stories in front of hundreds of people. They did an amazing job. “ commented Cecil, one of our Lead Support Workers.
