Army runs 24 marathons in 24 hours for charity

20161117_174251On the Friday 2nd December at 3pm, 158 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, based in Peterborough, is planning on taking on the challenge of attempting to complete the equivalent distance of 24 marathons in just 24 hours using gym equipment. The idea being that 2 x treadmills and 1 x gym bike, kindly provided by Empire Gym, will run continuously for a full 24 hours through the night, with soldiers changing over every 30 minutes on each of the machines until the distance of 629.25 miles has been completed. Hopefully finishing at 3pm Saturday 3rd December. The event is going to be held at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in the South Entrance and we have the Mayor Of Peterborough coming to set us off!

As your local Reserve Regiment, we have decided to raise money for two local charities and one military charity. Please see the attached document ‘Where the money will go’ for details of the charities.
